A Heavy Heart

Lord God, may we be grateful for our lot, and compassionate
toward all those who are suffering every kind of distress at
this difficult time. May we hold back nothing,
and hasten to be the ministers of prayer and mercy, like the
disciples of Him who went about doing good in times of need.

Swimming Memories/ 11 Weeks Old

You are 11 weeks old today Landon Jacob Wilson! Time is flying, but we are having so much fun with you in our life! Tonight, you got to get in the swimming pool with your Granna B for the 1st time. You loved it. You played in your float like a big boy, and you are truly a BIG boy, lots of rolls on your arms and legs and I kiss on them all day long! You love your mama's milk and want it every 3 hours! We give you around 4 ounces still. We are going to the beach in a couple of weeks, so we wanted to see how you like the water, and you enjoyed it very much. We can't wait to take you on your very first vacation. I hope we get to carry you everywhere you want to go, I know you will probably want to see Disney and lots of other stuff. My mom and dad have taken me on lots of trips and I am so thankful for that. So I want you to be able to go on lots of trips 2!!! I love you LJ, you are my bestest buddy in the world~

Hanging Out

I have been relaxing with my little guy for the past 2 days.  We nap, listen to his Wee Sing CD, watch E!, swing, rock, eat, talk, play on the activity mat, and anything else we want to do.  I am so happy not to be going back to work, I think I would go into shock since we haven't even had to take off our PJ's here lately.  I think one day I want to go back, but not just yet.  Landon is taking his first ever Rice cereal tonight.  It is still a little early, but he isn't quite as satisfied at night like he was, so I think it is time.  I have put one teaspoon in his bottle for his night feeding and I will let you know how it goes.  He is getting to be such a big boy and his hair is growing!  I love him so much.  He loves his alone time as much or more than when you hold him, he loves to kick his legs and squeal.  We call this is brake and clutch time, he looks like he is driving.  He is holding his head up pretty good, but it gets heavy after a while.  Here are some LJ pics with his cute little booty monogrammed.

A Busy Day

Today, Granna, Landon and I went to a pottery party that my friend Jen had!  It was so much fun seeing all my old friends and seeing everyone's baby... Our lives have changed so much since high school and it is so much fun to see.  My friend Sommer brought Skye to the party too and we got to meet her for the first time, and she is a CUTIE!  Our lives now revolve around little ones and stuff they do, it just feel right, if you understand what I mean.  I bought the cutest picture frame and an ornament with his hand and feet print on them.  I know I will treasure these for the rest of my life.
Tonight, Carter, Corey and Lauren came over to our house to grill hamburgers and play dominoes.  It finally feels like my life is getting back to normal.  It is hard to adjust to life with a baby and get back in to a routine where you actually do stuff!  I felt like my life was turned upside down for about 2 months, but now I feel like I can go along with my life with a baby without prethinking everything!  I guess things get easier with time.  I love Landon so much, it makes my life so more complete!  Here are some pics of Landon and Carter playing.

Look out Decatur, here we come!

Today, Landon, Granna, and I headed out to meet G-daddy for some lunch and to visit his work friends that wanted to see him.  Granna had a Doctor's appointment so me and Landon tagged along with her and then went to visit G-daddy at his work.  All his worker friends loved on him and played with him.  G-daddy has been dying to show him off and he was loving having his grandbaby there for everyone to admire.  We went to Red Lobster for lunch and now everywhere we go now, we get lots of attention from all the waitresses and hostesses, they all want to talk 2 little man and tell him how cute he is.
After all that we headed to the Decatur mall, it is actually sadder than the Regency Square in Florence!  We went to Belk and Dillards and then we decided to call it a day.  We had lots of fun, but it is ALOT harder to travel with a stroller, a carseat, diaper bags, bottles, and all the fun baby stuff.  By the time we get all that stuff loaded and ready to go, I am give out and so is Granna.  We were talking about our Disney trip and we are for sure going to go in the Fall, because July is miserable hot!
On the way home we went through Moulton and picked up Landon's pics that we had ordered from HMP... They are so good!  I could go crazy ordering all his pics.  I went with a panel with 9 shots on it and a custom blue and brown frame.  Mom went with the slim version, I'm not sure what size, of Landon in the stork theme.  I am so pleased with my purchase.  I know I will cherish these memories one day, he is growing like a weed.  We go back Aug. 26th for his 3 month session.  I want to get some family shots then.
Well goodnight friends, my husband gets off night shift tonight and is off til Tuesday afternoon.  Can't wait to spend some time with him, me and Landon miss him so much when he works nights.

To Must Have List and the Not So Much

Lots of my friends have asked me what was the things that I have used most since the arrival of my new baby boy, so I thought I would take some time to mention my must haves and things I could live without.
Most Used:
  1. Diapers, go ahead and stock up as you go, you WILL NOT want to have to load up and go get them when you run out.  Pampers are my fav.. they are softer and have a line that shows when they are wet.
  2. Wipes.. I am not to picky on my wipes
  3. Bottles, I nurse mostly throughout the day, but I use bottles when I pump for night feeding and when we are going somewhere.  I tried em' all, but I found that I like Dr. Brown's the best. There are more pieces, but his stomach is much better with them.
  4. Can't use bottles without a pump!  So I went with Medela PISA, I only have to pump for about 10 minutes with this little jewel, it's a lifesaver.
  5. Swing, start them early in the swing and they usually will like it better.
  6. Boppy, not just for nursing, but to prop him up on the bed.
  7. Passy's, I would start out with my own passy, rather than the one at the hospital.   The hospital ones are hard to find and a holder won't fit them.
  8. Blankets, to keep them swaddled.
  9. Milacon, Tylenol, Saline, Butt Paste and anything for a baby's sickness
  10. Thermometer
  11. Diaper Genie, that way you don't have to take the trash out immediately
  12. Bath Stuff
  13. Bath Chair that fits over your sink, it is wonderful and I leave it on the sink. It let the water drain through.
  14. Aspirator aka Booger Sucker
  15. Bottle Brushes, you don't want Thrush!
  16. Steamer, to clean your bottles and other utensils for baby.  They go in the microwave for 5 minutes.
  17. Slip over sleep shirts or gowns for nighttime, you don't want to button stuff in the middle of the night!
  18. A drying rack for all your bottles and nipples and etc.
  19. Pack N Play, that is where he sleeps, bc we set it up in the room with us!
  20. Monitors
Not SO much
  1. Wipes Warmer, I don't use mine, bc I am never where it is, and it has to be plugged in.
  2. Bottle Warmer, I put mine in hot water
  3. Hard Bathtub, I haven't used it yet, maybe when he can sit up
  4. Hairbrush, this is just for me, cause lil man doesn't have any hair, LOL.. I use it though cause he likes it.
  5. Thermometer for water temperature.  I am the thermometer, I always make sure that it is cooler than what I take a bath in, cause he is so little.
  6. Baby Powder, they say not to use powder on little one's anymore
  7. I can't really think of anything else.
Always have a camera ready for all those special moments!!!

 Giving Monkey Sugars

What Precious Feet, I know they will be getting into many things before long!

Landon is...

  • You are sleeping through the night (well according to Mommy's definition)  you have been going to bed a little later and waking up later, so that is what works for us.  He wakes up about 5 am for another feeding.. and goes back to sleep til 9am.. then back 2 sleep for about 3 hours and then we are up and ready to go.  I have my shower most of the time when you are asleep :)
  • I breastfeed you throughout the day (around every 3 hours), but I pump enough to have a bottle of breastmilk waiting on our nightly feeding because we are so sleepy!
  • We use Dr. Brown's bottles and you take them very well!
  • You do get mad when I am feeding you and I don't get it done as fast as possible
  • You don't like to burp!  You cry... and I talk to you and tell you that you have to burp to make yourself feel better..
  • You love to lay in the floor and kick your legs and want people to talk to you, so you can laugh and smile at them!  We all get down there to see who can get the biggest smile (you are SO loved)
  • You follow my voice when someone has you, because you KNOW who I am already
  • You love to suck on your passy
  • You take 3 long naps in the day
  • You wear a size 1 diaper
  • You wear anything from 3mos to 9mos clothes
  • You have the hiccups often, but that doesn't seem to bother you
  • Your Mommy isn't supposed to do this but she gave you a lick of her Popsicle and you loved it!

Landon's First Birthday Party

Mallie Faith turned one year old today and we helped her celebrate!!!!  Today, was Landon's first birthday party.  We all got ready and headed to Joe Wheeler State Park today at 2 o'clock for the festivities.  It took us 2 days to get ready, lol.  Well, we went to get Mallie's gift yesterday and we had to think about what to get a one year old and then we ended up buying Landon a bunch of toys that he is too little to use!  Our excuse is that we are putting them back for Christmas.  Isn't it funny that you no longer think of what you want or need when you go to town now, it is all about your little one.  I hope we are always able to buy Landon toys and stuff that he wants, without going overboard!  I hope Mallie enjoys her little duck that flaps her wings when you walk with it!  Landon got a bear that plays a drum when you walk with him and some more wood toys, you just don't see many wood toys anymore.  Poor Toph is on night shift for 5 days so he had to go home and go to bed after the party.  I loaded Landon up in his Infantino carrier that you hook to yourself and he loves it.  He cried when I stopped walking with him, lol.  He is doing so good though, he is going to bed around 9 still and sleeping for 6 or 7 hours, but he is HUNGRY when he wakes up.  He is taking around 4 ounces now.  I don't know how much longer that is going to keep him satisfied.  Guess we will see!

A Few Changes

So Landon has turned 2 months old this week... He is such a good baby, we couldn't ask for more...  He is beginning to "wake up" as MawMaw calls it.  He is staying awake longer and doing lots more laughing and "talking".  He loves you to sing to him and really likes Old McDonnell Had a Farm.   He is eating 3 ounces every 3 hours still and wakes up 2 times during the night.  He sleeps most of the morning and then it is PLAY TIME in the afternoon.  We put him in his "baby cave"  aka his pack and play around 9 or 10... so we are on a pretty good schedule.  The only times he cries is when you don't get his milk to him fast enough!  He is like his mommy and loves to eat and makes the sweetest noises when he eats!  I have began keeping up with his photos week by week so I will start posting my week pics on my blog.  I sure don't want to forget the unforgettable.
I can't stand to think that tomorrow is the big day of shots... It hurts my heart.  We have decided to go with the delayed vaccinations, because we live so close and if anything did happen I couldn't blame myself.  The thought of something happening to him breaks my heart.  This schedule means he still will get ALL of his shots, just at a slower pace.  On the brighter side of things, I have been deciding what he is gonna wear for his 3 month pics.  Wow, that is fun for me!!!  I wish you could have like 50 outfits, but you can only use 5.  We have been hanging with Granna B a few nights this week, because Toph is still working nights at Wise on Tues. and Wed.  I will be happy to have my husband at home on a regular schedule again.
Love to All,
Stephanie

Landon' First 4th!!!!

So, Landon had his first 4th of July celebration!  He had a pretty good time, but I know he will enjoy next summer's a lot more.  Me and Toph went canoeing on the 3rd and left little man with Mom and Dad, they dressed him up and took him to town to show him off. The canoe trip was fun, but we had to walk our canoe most of the way, because it was so shallow.  It was nice to have a little down time though.  The next day we all cooked out and went swimming. Dad grilled some ribs and pork chops and we all ate.  Then Landon got to go into the water for the first time!  He loves to be outside, but I don't let him stay out very long.  To me, he is still to little!  Later that night we went to watch some fireworks with friends and Ninny Nae and had a great time.
