No air? What...?

Today our power was out and it was HOT and we couldn't drink the water due to some complications at the water company!  What no air and water?  That is definitely not for me.  Toph got home early so we went to Rick's BBQ and got something to eat and thought maybe the power would come on while we were gone, no luck.  I figured it would be a while since I saw the lines down in the road and some man from the electricity department digging the biggest hole I have ever seen with a SHOVEL... poor guy.  So Lan man went to spend the night with his Ninny and Papa, he had already started getting hot.. :)  I decided I would take advantage and get a little sun and catch up on my new JD Robb book, I read it all in one sitting.  I love her series. Treachery in Death.  You can check it out by clicking on the picture... I have been reading a lot of Francine Rivers lately and I have really enjoyed her.  I don't watch much TV so that is my down time.  I am thinking about getting a kindle, but I know it probably isn't a good idea... all my books end up soaked in some form of water..  Overall, it wasn't a bad day, just a little frustrating when I go to plug in my lap top and remember, no power, lol... I did that kind of stuff all day, I depend on my gadgets way to much!

Last week of training for Toph

My sweet husband is going to be finished with his training for TVA this week.   He has been with them for 6 months and is really enjoying it.  I have too, bc he gets to come home really early to be home with us.  I'm so proud of him and what he does for our family.  He really tries so hard to make us happy :)  Bless his heart, he has such a kind heart.  I love you Christopher Glenn Wilson and so does Landon!  You make my heart smile (and laugh) cause you crack me up sometimes (prime example is picture above).

Country Boy's can survive! LoL

Oh Landon, you had so much fun today.  I had this wonderful idea to take you down to the creek that goes across the road, down by my friend Kala Walker's old house.  I remember when my dad took me down there to wash his truck, we only did it a few times, but I remember it being so much fun and such a good memory.  So Granna B agreed (after some begging) to drive us in the truck down there.  Granna doesn't like that kind of G and is afraid you will get hurt or bitten by a snake, come on granna loosen up a little, LOL.  Just kidding, we love you B.  You loved going across the water, and I had to run to catch you.  It was a little scary bc you can get away so fast, but you were grinning and then you wanted to lay down in the water.  I showed you where the water dropped off going on down the creek and thought that was so cool, you wanted to do it yourself.  HELLO, maybe when your 7, lol.  I love doing silly things like this with you, seeing your face light up at the most simple things makes my heart smile.  You are so precious!  A dog came up at the end to get him a drink and you thought he was the best thing ever.  Granna warned us not to touch him, but... we did anyway, lol.  He was a sweet doggie.  When we got come we went to see the cows and you love them too, you want to get down and go to them, but I have to hold you where you don't get shocked with the electric fence.  One cow let us feed him though the fence and pet him and he thought this was great!  I tell him cows go MOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and he tries to do it... and then I say suk heifer suk and he thinks that is hilarious.  Fun, fun day sweet one.

Landon's one year check up

Awww poor Landon got his shots today.  We did 2 today and are going to do the other 2 at 15 months!  He did really well, and only cried a minute.  We saw Dr. Carter and he loves him, I'm sad he is leaving.  Well, his stats are 28 pounds (90th percentile) 30 inches (75th percentile), head circumference was in the 50th percentile.  So happy to have a healthy happy boy!

The first year, being ours...

So today is going to be my last blog post in Landon's first year with us.  Bittersweet!  I love him so much and I'm so happy he is a healthy growing boy, but at the same time I don't like him getting so big, so fast.  I think I would have another if it was God's plan, but I think we are going to wait a while.  I know it would be fun to have another little one for him to play with, but I also try to think down the road.  I know it is not all about material things and they sure don't make you happy, but having a little money sure makes circumstances easier.  He is going to be a little jokster... He will ignore me around his daddy, but makes sure I am looking, then he looks out from the side of his eye and gives me a little grin.  It look like he is thinking haha mom, I am not playing with you now, beg :)  Stinker!  He loves to go places and will go to just about anyone that says I'm going bye bye.  He heads to the door and starts waving.  Guess he is gonna be a loafer tail like his mama.  Toph and I took him golfing at Joe Wheeler yesterday.  We were glad it was a slow day cause Lan man wanted to get out of the cart at every hole and play.  At the hole he would grab the flag out and put his golf balls in the hole.  It was so much fun and I sure hope he turns out to be a little golfer, mama loves the golf course.  He doesn't crawl anymore and trys to run everywhere, if I don't lose some weight during the toddler years there is no hope.  I am trying to get him used to shoes, but he doesn't much like them, he grunts and tries to pull them off.  If I didn't have his little push car at home we wouldn't survive.  I put him in it to do my watering and stuff and have to buckle him in.   He is learning fast how to get his way and we have been working on that.  It usually only takes a stern voice and he breaks down, bless it.  I hate doing it, but I know I gotta get a grip while I still can.  I usually have to do it the most when we go out to eat, he wants to throw his stuff off the table, poor servers, we make a mess!  He loves Thomas the Train and Dirtgirlworld.  I ordered my pool alarm this week and am anxious for it's arrival, I am scared of the pool and the door leading out.  We are gonna work on swimming when the water gets a little warmer, for now he has been lounging in his little pool.  I fill it up with bath water and he loves it.  The first time in he left a little surprise, GROSS!  I was glad I was able to just pitch the water out, and wasn't in the pool.  We got our fam pics back from HMP today and I was so happy with them.  It is a lot of work to get ready and head to Moorseville and work around everyone's schedule, but I am happy it worked out and will treasure them forever.  I scheduled Landon's one year doctor's appointment for next Tuesday and I'm not looking forward to it, last time is still to0 fresh on my mind... 2 hour wait, poop, rain, and a sick baby.  It will be better now bc he isn't so sick, but I don't wanna catch anything there, that is the worst part!  Well, I hope I'm good after year one with keeping up with the blog world, it has been the best year of my life.  Period.  To my sweet, precious boy I hope one day you read this little story of our life as a family and realize how much you mean to me, your dad, and family.  Your a gift from God and true blessing in my life, I really don't know what or who I would be without you. Everyday of this year was a new experience and adventure and you have shown me what I was put on Earth to do.  I know you are going to turn into such a good person with a big heart.  I hope I can be an example to you as you grow into that person.  I love you big guy, more than any word can say.

I'm one!

I have been SO busy!  I haven't had much time to blog lately.  I have been redoing my kitchen and dining room floors and the kitchen cabinets.  All I can say is WHEW, it has been a lot of work.  We did wood in the foyer and dining room and ceramic tile in the kitchen.  I painted my cabinets a cream antique finish and I love the new changes.  Toph laid my tile and his mom and dad helped him with the wood.  During all the renovation my dad had to be put in the hospital for a foot infection and is now off work for 6 or 8 weeks.  Please pray for him, bc if it gets worse he may lose 2 of his toes.  Landon had his party yesterday and it was fun!  The weather was a little windy and cold, but overall it went okay.  He loved his presents and is walking everywhere!  He got to see all of his sweet little friends that came and loved "talking" to them.  I don't know what he is saying most of the time, but he sure can tell some stuff.  He said mama yesterday for the first time... it was the best thing I have ever heard.  He was only saying dadada all the time.  :) Some things he is doing:  He says mama, dada, he waves and says bye when we are going somewhere.  He dances and sings.  He loves to patty cake.  He loves to get anything with wheels and roll it everywhere.  He likes for EVERYone to sing and clap when we are singing and then when we get done, he likes us to clap and say good job :)  He has been throwing his drink off his highchair and getting told no alot for that, but it has got better.  He likes to nuzzle in the morning with me and let me rub his arms and back :)  He is a sweet boy!  He is eating anything!  But his favs are mac and cheese and baked potatoes...  He wears a size 5 diaper and 24 month clothes..:)

Landon's 1st word

Landon has been saying his first word and get this it is ___________________????  DADADA~~~!!!!  I am a tad jealous.  He had been saying it for a couple of weeks and I just thought he was mumbling and then I just didn't want it to be so, and then mom heard it and I had to admit it.  LoL :)  He started doing patty cake too, and man am I glad.  We have been patty caking for a while and he knew what we were doing but he just wanted to laugh and now he has joined in on the fun.

Spring is here :)

Spring has sprung and our little man has been so sick.  It has been crazy around here lately, but it seems to be calming down some.  This is Landon's 8th day with RSV and let me tell you, IT SUCKS.  He is feeling better, but it is still rattling around in his chest.  I feel sorry for him, bc he can't get it up.  Toph has been working the outage at TVA and is working from 7 pm to 7 am.  It will be nice to have the extra money, but I miss him at night.  He has to sleep during the day too so we don't see him that much.  We did buy a new car in the middle of all this and that was a fun experience.  It was the first time either of us have bought a car and we were a little scared.  I think we did okay though.  We got a Hyundai Tuscan and I LOVE it.  I don't have to fill up with gas every trip I make, and that is SO good.  I hate getting gas, and I hate paying for it, so it was worth it right there.  I am feeling SOOOO much better after having my gall bladder removed.  I feel like a NEW person, and am so happy to finally feel good! I didn't know that it was going to make me feel 100% better so quickly.  It is nice and wish I would have got that stupid thing out sooner.  I have had 0 problems with it and just overall am feeling so much better.  Well, that was just a quick summary of how we are doing.  I have been neglecting my blog lately and need to catch up.  It has been a busy 2 months for us :)

My sick baby...

It has been a rough day for little Landon today.  We got up after being up most of the night and headed to Shoals Peds at 8 am this morning.  He was not in a good mood, his nose was running, then stopped up, then he was coughing, and it was terrible.  I have noticed him not feeling 100% for about 2 weeks and took him 12 days ago and saw Dr. Hammond.  He said he was fine and not to worry about it.  Then today he had RSV and a double ear infection.  I had to hold him down to get an Xray and he HATED the Roecephin shot.  It was so sad to see him so pitiful.  I wish it was me instead of him, it is so hard bc he can't blow his nose.  He is really tired of the aspirator too!  I am praying for him to feel better 2morrow, he wakes up all night bc he can't breathe.  The next step would be hospitalization and I don't want him to have to go through that.  I can't stand to see him so sick, he just lays his little head down bc he is so tired.  He was feeling somewhat better tonight though.  So maybe he is getting better.  Pray for my little guy please!  We are going to get his other antibiotic and ear drops in the morning.

A weekend with T-daddy

Me and Toph had a fun weekend together.  Mom kept Lan Man and we went to dinner and done a little shopping.  We tried out Crocodile Ed's and it was GROSS... I had a funky taste in my mouth for an entire day after.  I could not get it out of my mouth and brushed my teeth a 100 times.  We got our trim painted from the window and door installation and it looks so much better and is lots warmer too!  I think it will prove to be a good investment.  We also sold the old Jeep on Saturday, I had 11 people that wanted to come see it the first person to come look at it, bought it!  I was really happy and love Shoals Sales Barn, I have put 2 more things on there and it all sold that day.  It makes me want to find a bunch of my junk and get rid of it.  I think Toph was kind of sad to see the Jeep go, he had a lot memories in it.  We are gonna go get our new car in about 2 weeks.  I am gonna get a Hyundai Tuscon and I am so excited.  Toph's gonna drive my car so it worked out good.  I went to the Dr. last Thursday bc I have been having some pain in my back and side.  One night it totally took my breath and hurt really bad.  I have had lots of pain in my chest over the years and every time it scares me to death.  I actually think I am having a heart attack, and it causes lots of anxiety.  I actually got my heart checked a few years ago and it was fine.  The kidney dr. suggested I get my gallbladder checked out bc he said it wasn't my kidneys that were causing my pain so I went and got 2 tests on it.  The first was just a normal ultrasound to see if I had any stones and that came back negative.  So he went on to the next test where they inject a radioactive die in your blood stream to check the function of your gall bladder.  It is a hr and half test, the first part of the test went fine.  I slept and they did there thing, but the last 30 minutes they put this stuff that works specifically on your gallbladder.  It made me really sick at my stomach, I wanted to throw up.  I didn't have any pain until later and when I got home my stomach started cramping really bad.  Well, the results came in the next day and it was my gallbladder causing my trouble.  It doesn't hardly function and when it does it is spastic and causes pain and nausea.  I am so happy to have found the problem, bc it sometimes made me feel nuts.  I get it removed on Friday at the Surgery Center in Huntsville.  Dr. Harriman is doing the procedure and he is really nice.  I will be sore for 3-5 days, but I know it will probably be well worth it!

The month for Love!

Your almost 9 months old Landon!!!! Yay!!!  Your growing so fast and discovering so much more stuff.  I can hardly keep up with you.  Your little toothies are giving you a fit, but your still in a pretty good mood though.  We have discovered we need to work a little more on being around kids.  You are just so sensitive and when a baby fusses on you or yells it puts you out of orbit.  Wonder where you got that from? ;)  You had a visitor yesterday, Mallie, and when she didn't want to play with you it made you really upset.  You cried and cried like it had broke your little heart.  I think I am going to send you to a play group one day a week when you get one.  I want you to love other kids and understand that they might not want to play as much as you want them to.  I also want you to learn to share.  I guess all mama's want their kids to be perfect, act perfect, and look perfect... but you know that's not gonna happen.  We can just do the best we can and pray for you.  I love you so much.  I don't even have to slap your hand or anything when you get into things your not suppose to, all I have to do is say no no in a stern voice and you cry your little eyes out.  I don't like doing it, but I know you'll be better off for it.  This parent thing is one of the hardest things I have ever done, but also the MOST rewarding.  I try and give it all my effort, all the time, and I know that is what it takes.  That and lots of prayers :)  I love you my sweet baby, your my precious angel!

Landon's first steps

Landon has been standing on his own a few times these past few weeks and last night he took his first steps by himself.  I had my camera and I got some pics!  I couldn't believe I had my camera.  He is learning new things every days.  It is so much fun to see him learn and grow.  He is getting to be such a big boy.

Landon got his two top teeth last week and is now getting the one's right beside those!  He has been doing his lips funny since the top two have pushed through... He's a character.  He has also starting jumping on his bottom and flapping his arms to get around.  He wants to walk, but just don't realize what's going on, lol...

Getting used to his new teeth..

Look how much you have grown!

Me and Toph have been on date night tonight and when we go on date night, our conversations always are about Landon! Tonight, we were talking about that it is getting time to put him in a larger car seat.  It made me thinking about when we left the hospital, we didn't know a thing about babies or car seats.  He was so tiny and I was so scared.  Toph drove like 45 mph all the way home!  It is so great having Toph at home more now with his new job... it's not just great but WONDERFUL.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland... Landon is 8 Months!

Oh goodness, I don't know where the time goes?  I haven't been a very good blogger lately because I have been involved in books by my favorite authors.
We decided to stay at my mom's house for the snow predictions and we sure are glad that we did! Toph and Dad both didn't have to work so we all hung out, ate, and played all day.  Tonight the AU game is on so, we have been watching that :)  Go Auburn!  (that was for my husband).. :) Landon LOVED the snow and he especially loved seeing Cash jump around on him.  It was cold, so I was ready to go in and Landon cried bc he didn't want to go :)

8 Months
I eat almost everything that I can chew and not get choked on.  I still take Enfamil Gentlease, I like cheese puffs, and granola bars the most :)

I wear a 4 diaper

I take nap one in the morning for about 2 hrs and one in the afternoon around 2 hours.

He really wants to walk so bad...

Christmas is near!

Oh my goodness, it is almost Christmas, ONLY 3 days.  I can't wait, I think I have all my shopping done except one or two things.  I'm cutting it kinda close, but I'm going to town tomorrow and should be able to finish up.  The only bad thing is the Christmas crowd always seems to take a little of my spirit away, lol.  I know most of the people that come out, only come out once a year, and you can tell.  I have to slow down, take a breath, and breathe in all that Christmas cheer... ;)  Landon is ready for his 1st Christmas, we got him all ready to go.  I know he won't know much about it this year, but he loves things that make noise and he is going to get A LOT of them... I knew I said I wasn't going to overdo it, but he is so much fun to buy for.  He is feeling better, still a little congested but no fever for a couple of days.  His little cheeks get red and I have to put vaseline on them.  We also have to keep pants on his little legs bc the carpet is so rough and makes them red.  I bet he thinks that I don't EVER leave him alone, bc I'm always after him to do something to him, lol.  I have to keep him suctioned and he HATES that....  I need to get a pic of him actually getting it done, whew, he would probably knock my camera out of my hands though.

He has loved playing with his toys.  He has a leap frog bus, but he WILL NOT let the frogs ride in it.  I put them in, and he takes them out... Over and over.  He also likes me to sing "Shake it up Baby Now" into his backyardigans microphone, he thinks it is hilarious.

These are his favorite food, gotta keep them stocked!

I keep these done up, when he wants milk he wants it THEN... :)

He loves to look at himself, so I got my full length mirror out of the closet and let him play.  I then push it behind the couch because I'm afraid of him breaking it and getting cut.

Poor guys doesn't like his meds so I mix them in the bottle where he doesn't spit it back out at me.

My shrine, I am going to have to get a bigger table!

Landon goes to sleep on his own now, I lay him down, he lays his head down and goes to sleep... This is WONDERFUL.  He is still in the room with me and Toph and I am fixing to move him to his room :(  This will be a sad day for Mommy, but it is getting close.

Merry Christmas from the Wilson's

I did 2 Christmas cards this year.  I ordered some from HMP Studios and did some from Tiny Prints.  I loved both.  I send out around 100 Christmas cards each year and this year I was so tired of cards.  That is just A LOT of cards and addresses.  If you didn't get one in the mail, I probably messed up on your address, lol.  So here is some Christmas cheer from the Wilson fam.

1st Sickness :(

Poor Landon is sick for the very first time, yuck.  I have been dreading the day, but I knew it would probably come sooner rather than later.... Yesterday, he just acted like he was tired all day and had some rosy cheeks, so I figured he was getting what I had earlier in the week.  It put me in the bed for 2 days and I DO NOT like to lay around, so I knew I was bad.  I went to the doctor and they told me I had pre-pneumonia and a bad sinus infection.  I had a fever though, so I knew it was probably contagious.  My mom helped out with Landon and I got better.  Then, he started acting sick so we decided to get up this morning and take him on to see Dr. Moore.  He was running a fever, had chest congestion, and an ear infection (which was brought on by the nose thing)??? Not really sure, but we have an antibiotic and he seems to be improving.  I sure hope he wakes up and wants to play because I'm not used to a sleepy headed little one.  Bless his little heart.  I would stay sick, if it meant him being well.  :(

7 Months and Going Strong :)

Landon Jacob Wilson you just turned 7 months old!!!!  I can't believe it's true, it really feels like I was just having to put you in your seat for the first time ever.  To tell you the truth some days have flown by as others have felt like they lasted a lifetime.  You love to grin and play, and make mama trail behind you every step of the way, just in case you get wobbly when you pull up and hit your head, lol.  But, sometimes your belly hurts, or your teeth are coming in, or you hit your head and you are an unhappy camper.

You are eating up a storm, you love to eat, that is for sure.  You have cut down on milk, but you like fresh bananas, cheese puffs, all baby food except green beans, oatmeal, rice cereal, juice, well those are most of your favorites.

You have 2 teeth on the bottom, and I think some more are coming in on top because you constantly run your tongue over your gum, your drooling, and a little more fussy than usual at times.

You don't take a passy and haven't for a couple of months, but you have started using your sippy cup by yourself.

You are pulling up to the couch and anything else you can get a grip on.

You LOVE your reflection.

You like Micky Mouse Playhouse the most.

You are wearing a size 3 diaper.

You went to Chattanooga with me and your Daddy this week, and you liked the aquarium the most.

You love playing in the floor with your toys and me playing with you!  You like to watch me be goofy with all your animals, because you think it is SOOOO funny.  I catch myself saying things to you that are not very age appropriate, lol, I have got to work on that. :)  Your mom's crude humor is going to come back and bite her in the butt, if I don't stop now, :)

Your growing like a weed!  More hair, longer body, larger foot, EVERYTHING!!!  It is amazing how much the body grows within 7 months.  But, you have one sweet little body and I love every hair on your head big guy!  You are my number one and couldn't imagine my life any other way.  You haven't been sick yet, and I am feeling kind of under the weather.  I think it might just be another sinus infection, but I worry about you getting sick constantly.  I know I have to hand things like this over to God, and let it go, because after I take all the precautions I know how to, it is in His hands.  So goodbye burden, I am leaving you here.  Also, for those of you that might be reading this, tomorrow is my husbands first real day of his new job, please pray for God's guidance for him and His help with new job anxiety.  I love you Toph, you will do great!
