A different day... always a new adventure :)

I got too tired last night and didn't finish up.  Yesterday, Chris, Nae, me, and Landon loaded up to head on over to Lawrence County :)  We got his pics done at Heather Mitchell Photography and we were right on time.  It takes a lot of work for your picture to be successful.  He had some beautiful little outfits and we got a family pic of all of us.  I can't wait to see them, she does so good.  It takes a lot of time to get things together for a photo shoot, but I know I will treasure them for ever. I'm so proud that I am OCD about pics, and I am picture poor, but oh well.

Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

Our Christmas tree adventure was a lot harder than last year, because on this day you decided to take no naps :(  You were so sleepy and fussy.  This is the day that I decided to implement a better sleep schedule.  Bless your heard and MINE, it is hard work little buddy, but all good things come to those who can wait it out (my version) lol... I have had to let you cry today to get you to nap.  It breaks my heart but it was the only option that I thought would work for you.  You are really strong willed and I am just going to have to work with you.  We finally got you to stop crying in the night, it took about 6 days.  For some reason, I think the nap thing is gonna take a little longer.  I don't mind being strong when I know it will benefit you.  You are the most precious thing in the entire world.  The other day you crawled over to the recliner and stuck your hands up for me to pick you up and when I did you gave me sugar, nice big sloppy sugar.  It melted my heart.  I love tending to you, it is the best job I have ever had.  Another thing I have had to start thinking about is teaching you right from wrong, if you stayed little I would never even have to think about this :(  I have got to start teaching you what you can play with and what you can't... this is going to be all day because you are very inquisitive.  But I think of it as the more work you put in, the better they are.. I really believe that.  I want you 2 mind me and daddy.  We will work on this after we gets the sleep thing under control.  I know you will do fine because you are smart little boy.  I love you big guy, your the best thing EVER.

My family ornament with Landon... awww I love it

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year... we always go to MawMaw's for lunch and we were missing a few due to the stomach virus and work, but we all had a good time with good food and family. Your cousin Sonni was there and you haven't been around many other kids and you were amazed by her, but she just ignored you... lol. We always have SO much good food and I look forward to it all year.  The sad part is I get so full I can't eat all the deserts I think about all year long.  Daddy Toph had to work a 12 hour shift so he didn't get to come and we missed him lots, but yesterday was his LAST day at his old job.  Now, he gets to spend some well needed family time with us.  We went to Ninny Nae's and Papa Tony's for supper and had a great time, your little cousin's Barkley and Bradee kept you busy the whole time and you loved them. You got to see Uncle Ben for a little while too, and he couldn't believe how big you had gotten.  Then on Friday me and your dad went to watch the Alabama and Auburn football game with the Henry's and you stayed with Ninny.  It was a good thing you didn't go with us because it was a crazy came with a lot of yelling.  It turned out that your dad's team won by one point.  It was a good game, but your mama is still a Bama fan RTR!!!!  I will let you choose when you get older but now I get to dress you and I put you on more Bama than AU... If your daddy wants to put something on you he could, I wouldn't stop him... he just doesn't, lol... that's our good luck ;)  We went to Grandma and Grandpa's on Sunday to visit with them and had a good time playing with them and showing them your tricks.  Everyone loves having you around, we are so thankful God brought us to you to enjoy this wonderful Thanksgiving.  You bring so much joy and happiness to us and our familes, it was my best Thanksgiving ever.

Cleaning Extravaganza... NOT

Well, I had to pull up my sleeves and get busy today, as bad as I hated to, lol... Mom offered to come get Landon and said we could do anything we wanted to do while she had it him.  I was thinking ohhhhh I wanna go to Red Lobster, or get some Christmas presents, or something fun... Well, I came back down to reality and started cleaning.  Since Toph has been working 16 hours days 7 days a week, me and Lan Man has been hanging with Granna all the time.  My house was funky to say the least.  I cleaned the baseboards, under stuff, Toph cleaned his closets, I tried getting all the carrot spots up out of the floor.... Took me FOREVER!  We should be getting our new windows and doors on the 3rd so I will probably have to clean up another mess even though they say that they do that.  I then will attempt my Christmas decorations, but not before the window installation.  I have a feeling I am going minimal this year, because Toph wants me and Landon to go to Chatanooga for his TVA training on Dec. 6th.  I really want to go but I don't know how 5 days of me and Landon in a hotel will work... I am gonna think on it, but I think we will be ok :)

Thankful

In dedication to Thanksgiving, I am making my "thankful for" list.  I am thankful for these things daily, not just one day of the year.  I give thanks to God daily for all things in my life, good and bad.  We all have bumps in the road, but I am a lucky woman to have such a good life and this year has been the best by far.  I love the spirit of Thanksgiving and I am truly grateful to be spending it with my biggest blessing of all, Landon has brought a new sense of the word "thankful" to me and I have a conversation with God everyday on how thankful I am that He gave him to me.  I believe that people can become so negative always thinking of the bad things in their life and never just realizing how much they actually have to be thankful for.  People that have a positive outlook on life and are facing the worst, those people are an inspiration to me.
Start each day by celebrating Thanksgiving, and it will change the way you look at life. And when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. Lots of people think that difficult days are a bad thing, a reason to complain and have self pity, instead why not be grateful for the challenge to grow, learn, or get better at something.  I have days I want to complain all day, who doesn't, but I try to remember no one likes a complainer and to try to be a positive person.  I also try to focus on the things that I have and not the things that I don't have, things don't buy happiness, you do that for yourself.  In other words, be thankful for today, you might not have tomorrow and one thing you can't get back is time, enjoy life.  Here's to being grateful and living positively, I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving~!  Here is the top of my list!

6 Month Doctor Visit

What a big boy I have!!!!  Landon Wilson, you weighed 19.6 pounds today (90th percentile) and were 26 1/4 inches long (50th percentile)!!  No wonder my back hurts and my arms feel like they are going to drop off after about 5 minutes of holding you, lol.  It has been such a joy to watch you grow over these past 6 months, I give thanks to God everyday for allowing me to stay with you and grow with you and for letting me be your mom.  He has given me the most special gift that I could have ever dreamed about.  You are my world, and I never dreamed that anyone could love me so much or the love I feel for you.  It is the best feeling, the most rewarding feeling that I have ever had.  Life was a lot more superficial before you got here, and now that stuff doesn't matter anymore.  I know I will make mistakes as a mother, but I want you to know that I will always love and cherish you.  When you are playing with a toy and look up at me with those big blue eyes and give me a grin, it is the sweetest face in the whole world.  I wish I could capture that moment and be able to relive it on down the road when you get to be older.  I will admit, you have to be tough to be a good mama...  I get tired and I get overwhelmed, but I always remember that I am going to be okay because I'm doing this for my sweet baby.
You were kind of wearing mama down when you were getting up every two hours so I am taking  some actions to help us both...
First, I bought a box fan and put it your room and I feed you your last bottle and tell you goodnight and I love you and kiss you.. and lay you down in your bed.  You play for a few minutes and then you cry for about 15 minutes.  I have done this twice and tonight I layed you down after our nightly ritual and you just layed down and went to sleep!~~~~~  Yay!  It is so much better for us though.. We will all be happier.
The doctor today said you were old enough now to sleep all night long, so we are embarking on that journey tonight.  It is really hard for me to hear you cry, but I just tell my self it is helping all of us because you will be getting a good nights rest when we finish, mom will sleep all night and so will daddy.  This makes for better moods and more energy to enjoy and play with the things you want to or places we want to go when you wake up.  My favorite time is when we get in the floor and you are playing with everything and you make it back to me and want to get up on my legs... so sweet you are.  Your eating good, but whew, you are a messer, food is everywhere when we get done.  It is going to be so much fun when your daddy can start hanging with us at night... I can't wait for him to start his job.  Then you will have both of us!  Well, I love you little guy, you are the most precious thing I have ever had.

6 Months Old and Growing SOOOO Fast

Dear Sweet Sweet Landon,
You are 6 months old this month!  Your halfway to your first birthday.  Where has the time went, you are growing so fast.  You went and saw Santa Claus yesterday and you loved the jolly old guy, you even wanted to pull is beard, but he wasn't much liking that.  I thought it was pretty funny :)  You are getting around so good.  If you want it your going to get it!  You love playing in the floor and you would much rather be there playing than laying in my lap.  You like cords, phones, and boxes so much.  You have been crawling for the past week and sitting up so much better.  You were 3 weeks early so you are doing really well for your age.  You have started squealing and it is the sweetest sound.

Food:  You eat around 4 baby foods a day, you like me to mix in a little oatmeal or rice cereal to thicken it up some.  You like around 6 oz of milk about 4 times a day.  You still get up once or twice in the night but you sleep for 10 hours so you can't ask much more of you.  You still sleep in your pack and play and the last time you get up I let you stay in bed with me.  :)  You still take Enfamil Gentlease.

You wear a size 2 diaper, but I have a 3 ordered for next time.  I get your diapers delivered to the door from Amazon.com.

You love everyone and you are just now getting to the stage you really have to check out where you are and then you decide if you like it or not.

You ride in the car really well and like to watch Barney while we drive.

Your daddy got a new job this week at TVA and it is going to be so much better.  He has been working a lot of hours at work and working evening and midnights and now he will be working days!!! We are so happy that we are going to get to have a normal life again, this was such a blessing for our family.  We have been praying for this... It took around 5 months to get everything together and he starts on Dec. 6th.  He will be a systems engineer for the I and C dept., I don't really know what he will do, but I know he will be home at night!!!! :)

You have 2 teeth and you run your tongue over them to feel them, and you like to bite the spoon now when I am feeding you.

You hate your passy and don't want it anymore.  Sometimes I am happy, but when you are sleepy, I wish you would like it, lol :)

The only time you get fussy is if you are hungry or sleepy.

You take around 2 naps a day.

I give you 2 baths a day and you LOVE your bath, you want me to give you a drink from the faucet sprayer.

Teeth

It's tooth time!!!  Landon, you have 2 new teeth to bite mommy with!!!!  They both came in at almost the same time... It is your bottom teeth, the one on the left came in first and the second popped through today.  You are getting to be such a big boy, and I love you so much!

Sweet Memories

I have finally got my computer back after almost three weeks!  Wow, I thought I would never see her again.  I left my laptop at the beach when we went on vacation a few weeks ago.  We had everything packed up and just left it laying there by the chair and my dad's friend had to get it from the condo people and ship it to me.  I'm glad they got it back to me safe and sound though.
And now it looks like me and T-daddy have some baby proofing to do, Landon is crawling.  Where has the time gone, just yesterday I was bringing home a little bitty Landon, now he is getting in to stuff.  It is amazing how much they accomplish in 5 months.  I have to say, it is getting a lot easier for me now that he likes to play in the floor.  He is content to play with his toys and check out new things.  He tries really hard to crawl on all fours but he gets frustrated because he goes backwards most of the time, so he just rolls where he needs to go.  I can be in the kitchen and he rolls to the door to check out what I am doing and just grins at me like "hey mom, look what I can do".  He loves to paw at the carpet because it is kind of long and he can find one little piece, of paper or something and he will try and get it for 30 minutes.  I have also found that you like me to mix a little rice cereal in your baby food, you seem to like the consistency better and don't make as much of a mess.  You want to steal the spoon so I give you your own to play with while we eat.  I gave you a sippy cup and you had a fit because it you couldn't get it to come out, so we are gonna practice some more. When he is going to sleep after his bottle while I am rocking he finds my arm and just blows bubbles all over it.  Then when he is getting really sleepy he want to touch my hands and hold onto my finger, it is the most precious thing.  I am so happy I am writing this down where when I get old and can't remember I can look to the book I am making.

Here are some pictures of your favorite things to do!

You use this at MawMaw's house when you go over there :)

You LOVE riding in the green car, you just lay back and relax, it is so sweet.

We have bought you a Radio Flyer for Christmas, but we went ahead and let you have it to ride in because it would be cold soon.

Halloween is not til Sunday, but we are going to go ahead and trick or treat during the day on Saturday at a few places.  You are gonna be a duck and we have lots of people we plan on seeing but we will just have to see how that works out.... lol.
Daddy has been studying for six weeks for his engineering test and it is 2morrow so he is going to go with us a few places when he gets home :)  He has had a few off days and it has been wonderful, I wish he could stay home everyday, lol, but I know he has to work :(  Work can get in the way of a lot of fun sometimes, hehe.  He is the best ever for taking care of us and loving us... he's my glue that keeps me together.

we had been cleaning out the pool, the yard and house!

This one's for my mom :)

Oh B!!!  How much I love you.  You are the best mother in the whole world.  You keep my boat rocking while Toph is having to work these CRAZY shifts.  I don't know what I would do without your help during these day!  One day when everything settles somewhat, I am getting you a BIG prize :)  I finally understand now when people say "it takes a village to raise a child." It sure does :)  I Love you Granna and G-daddy!

Pumpkin Patch

Today, we took Landon to the pumpkin patch to get his very first pumpkin.  My MawMaw, Aunt Christi, Alexis, and Mom all went to Belue's Pumpkin Patch in Lexington.  It was so much fun and Landon had a great time.  He played in the corn crib, on a horse swing, petted animals, and went on a hay ride to choose his pumpkin.  His favorite was the corn crib, he was amazed by the corn and we couldn't get a picture of his face all day.  He was way to busy to be taking any pics and wanted to touch everything.  I was kind of worried he might choke the rabbits so he just got to rub them once.  He likes to grab and I knew the poor rabbits wouldn't be liking that.  It was a great day and so much fun.  I wish Toph could have came, but he had to work :(  Bless him... but his team won today so maybe that helped some :)  Happy Fall!

5 Month Old!

Oh me, oh my, doesn't time just fly?  Landon's 5 month birthday was today!  I can't believe it!  Landon is growing entirely too fast, what am I going to do?  Dad, mom, me and Landon are in Gulf Shores this week and it is BEAUTIFUL.  I was afraid it might be to cool to swim and enjoy the beach, but it is actually the best time to come here.  We can get out and about without sweating to death.  Nice.  My little man has grown so much in 5 months.  I am so happy he is doing so well but in a way I am so sad.  I have this feeling that one day I am going to look back and think where did the time go?... I have that feeling a lot, especially when I am tired and not really feeling my best.  I try to remind myself that he is only a baby for a short, short time and enjoy every minute of this special time.  He is one more dandy that is for sure.

Things you like to do-  play in your bouncer, suck on your hands, stroll, watch TV

Things you eat-  Enfamil (for gas and fussiness), pears, bananas, prunes, sweet potatoes, rice cereal, carrots, squash, mixed veggies, and prune juice.  You know what G-daddy's orange drink is because he gives you some on your passy when you are fussy and you eye that drink from a mile away :)

You are almost sitting up, but not to good on your own..

Your gums itch and you are always scratching them

You love someone to play "creepy mousy" with you

You like to have people around you

You sleep in your pack and play

You love blankets and like to root on them

You wear a size 2-3 diaper and I like for you to wear Pampers the most because they are softer

You go to sleep around 8:30 and wake up to be fed around 1:30 and again at 6

I guess I will bite my tongue...

LoL.. I gotta go get my tongue fixed tomorrow and not a moment too soon... it has been bothering me for 3 weeks... Thank goodness I will be able to enjoy my food again, I have been really missing it.  :)  Landon has been so much fun tonight.  I gave him his first sucker that he got at the fair (only a couple of licks) but he went to town on that thing.  He was loving it.  I guess I know how to get him quiet if I need to.  He sat in his big boy chair and looked at his book for the longest.  He is getting better at sitting up and I think he will be so happy when he can finally get his balance.  He does it for a little while now, but he gets tired.  He's a short little butterball, and he is the sweetest thing I have ever seen.  I love it when he laughs out, it makes my day.  I could sit and listen to him all day long.  Well, pray for me tomorrow.  I don't want to get my tongue cut on, but I am happy to maybe get some relief... Love yall!

LCHS Homecoming

Sometimes I wonder why people are so strange and then I wonder well, "what if I'm the strange one."  Just a thought, but I really have that feeling a lot.  So.... today Landon went to the parade and he liked it.  It was kind of hot and windy, but overall it was a pretty good parade.  He is still a little fussy with his teeth, but it comes and goes.  I bought him tons of toys at the yard sale this morning and he has been in the floor enjoying them.  He's a stinker :)  Daddy bear is at work tonight (we love you daddy bear)...  Landon will probably be putting his AU gear on and rooting for the Tigers tomorrow morning.  I could insert a comment here but I'm not going too :)  And for those of you following my tongue, hahaha.  I am going to have the spot removed on Monday.  Wow, I am so looking forward to that G.  Dad said he hopes it shuts me up for about a week.  I hope it don't hurt too bad, and I guess it will help my diet.. hehehe... Gotta look on the positive side somewhere.  I hope everyone has a great night and some fun football game day's tomorrow.  Roll Tide :)

All about teeth...

Today must have been teeth day for the Wilson fam.  I took Landon to the doctor this morning to see what was causing him to be so fussy and looks like it is the toothies.  He is getting his top and his bottom teeth in at the same time, isn't that wonderful :)  I am glad he didn't have an ear infection or anything worse.  He doesn't like the Dr. and I think he already knows where we are... He didn't want Dr. Moore looking at him or putting anything in his ears.  He weighed 16 pounds and 10 ounces and is healthy as a horse, all except for the teeth thing.  We have to give him Tylenol, teething tabs, and a washcloth (for chewing).  This afternoon Toph and I had dentist appointments as well.  We didn't have any cavities, but my teeth and gums are so sore that I don't want to open my mouth.  I guess that is what I get for skipping a few appointments.  We all got new toothbrushes including Landon and when I got home I rubbed the toothbrush on his gums and he LOVED it.  It must have felt wonderful. On the down side, the thing that I thought that was an ulcer in my mouth is some kind of growth... It isn't gonna go away on its on, lovely.  I have to schedule an appointment with the oral surgeon to get it removed before it gets any bigger.  Whew, it is always something.  Having something cut out of my tongue does not seem pleasant and after I googled it, it seems even worse.  Well, here are some pics of Landon with his Halloween leggings on, just plain adorable with those fat little legs of his.

Fall is in the air!

Lots cooler temps here in North Alabama today, and it felt wonderful!  I actually wanted to get outside today, so I decorated for fall, did some yard work, and pruned my shrubs.  I am give completely out now, whew.  Toph was home today and watched Little Man while I got my stuff done.  I wish it would stay this kind of weather all year round, I like walking out the door without sweating and Landon loves going out and strolling.  He can be having a hissy fit and if we walk outside it's like BAM he instantly stops crying.  That's how I can tell if he is really sick or something, because he wouldn't just stop crying if something hurt.  I think he is getting some teeth, and let me tell you, he has been a little fussy britches today.  He doesn't cry, it's kind of like a whine.  I hope the teeth soon break through and maybe he will feel better.  I sure hope so, because we have a busy weekend ahead.  Toph and I have dentist appointment Thurs., the 101 yard sale and the LCHS homecoming parade on Friday, and the Bama game on Sat.  I think I have forgot a few things we are supposed to do, I am just so tired I can't think. Well, I'm going to bed, the up side to Landon's teeth is that it doesn't affect his sleep.  That is a major plus!

Roll Tide!

Roll Tide Roll!!!  It was a nail biter, but it turned out to be a good one.  We have had a pretty good weekend, except Toph got called in to work the whole weekend.  That stinks.  I can't wait til he doesn't have to work all the time.  Landon wore his new houndstooth diaper cover today for the game and he was a cutie!  We waited til Toph went in for work before we brought it out, lol.  I think his stomach might have hurt tonight, he was a little fussy and spit up a few times.  It is hard to know what is wrong, because they can't tell you.  He might be getting some teeth, I guess we will just have to wait and see.  We have been so lucky with him not being sick.  It has been such a blessing.  All he wants to do is grin, chew his hands, put stuff in his mouth, and roll over.  He looks like a little turtle when he rolls over and sticks that head up.  It looks like I am going to have to head to the Dr. on Monday myself.  I thought I had ulcers in my mouth but I don't think that is the problem.  Guess I will go see what it could be :(
